Show Us How You Practice Self-Care, Help Others, and Get Paid!
Life moves fast. And sometimes, it’s easy to forget the importance of taking time to take care of yourself. Share your favorite way to practice self-care and inspire others to find their own. Send in a video(s) and get paid for creating content that could be featured in the You Can campaign. Plus, have your name entered for a chance to win one of five $100 Amazon gift cards. Get your friends to participate and earn even more $!
This video project is open to everyone in Washington state, ages 12- to 18-years-old. All submissions must be sent by Wednesday, February 12th, 2025.
What we need:
- A vertical video that’s 20-45 seconds long and shows a self-care activity that brings you joy or helps you de-stress.
- A short description of your video, like “Making clay earrings” or “Cuddling with my cat”.
- Your first name, city or town, email address, Instagram or TikTok username, and confirmation that you are 12-18 years old.
What participants get:
- A $20 Amazon gift card per submission.
- Participants will not receive compensation if their video does not meet the submission guidelines.
- One entry in a random drawing to win one of five $100 Amazon gift cards.
- The final drawing will be done on Friday, February 14th, 2025.
- Your name will only be added to the random drawing once, even if you submit two videos.
- An extra $5 per friend (up to five friends) who submits a qualifying video(s) and lists you as their referrer.
- You must also submit your own video(s) to qualify for the referral bonus.
- The email you use to submit your own video(s) must match the email your referral lists you under.
- You may not refer yourself or use a different email address of your own for the referral bonus.
Things to keep in mind:
- You can submit up to two videos, and each video must showcase a different activity.
- The same video cannot be submitted by multiple people. If the same video is submitted by two or more people, only the earliest submission will be compensated.
- You can tell your friends to participate and be compensated for each friend (up to five friends) who submits a qualifying video(s) and lists you as their referrer.
- For the best results, try to film in a relatively quiet space.
- For safety, videos cannot include any identifiable location markers—like an address.
- Videos cannot include any profanity, nudity, drugs or drug paraphernalia, or other people. Pets are welcome! Plagiarized videos, e.g., internet stock videos or re-records of someone else’s video, will not be considered.
- By submitting a video, you are consenting to having your first name and location included in the video if the Washington State Department of Health selects it for use. Videos may or may not be used in future outreach, at the discretion of the Washington State Department of Health and partners.
- By submitting a video, teens are consenting to allow the Washington State Department of Health and their partners to use—and possibly edit for time and criteria—the footage in this and future outreach for the You Can campaign for up to two years following project close. Videos may be used individually or in compilation for promotion on campaign websites, social media, and other platforms, and may also be used by partners of the Washington State Department of Health to promote mental health and amplify their outreach efforts.
About the campaign:
You Can educates young people, ages 12 to 17, about the health effects and consequences of using marijuana and provides healthy ways to cope with stress and anxiety. You Can content also shares skills for managing difficult emotions and developing and maintaining healthy relationships.
